A proposed new national chain of "food-led" cafes has been unveiled. Talk about re-inventing the wheel! The first Rex Cafe opened last month in Muswell Hill - for those of you who don't see the irony: Ray Davies (of the Kinks), who grew up in the area, released an album in 2007 bemoaning the loss of the traditional "greasy-spoon"

Wirral food factory to close
Givaudan, a Swiss-owned food manufacturer, has today announced plans to close its Bromborough factory which produces savoury dry powder flavours.

New Brighton's Cafe Society
New Brighton Prom will be lovely when it's finished - and it's on my doorstep (photo taken a week ago) - but I still wouldn't pay 50 quid for a cup of coffee anywhere in the world!
